"Splash plays" could once again be the identity of Steelers defense in 2016
"Splash plays" could once again be the identity of Steelers defense in 2016In the Steelers first preseason game of 2016, the defense continued a 2015 theme by allowing 294 passing yards to the Lions in a 30-17 loss Friday night at Heinz Field.Fortunately, Keith Butler's unit also continued its "splash plays" theme from a year ago and forced two first half turnovers that resulted in a 10-point swing. If you were hoping for a vast improvement in a Steelers pass-defense that finished 30th a year ago, you may be out of luck, as evidenced by the 294 yards the unit allowed through the air in a 30-17 loss to Detroit in the preseason opener at Heinz Field Friday night.
